Technology STANDARD 7 – Research, Problem Solving, & Product Development
The competent teacher will use computers and other technologies in research, problem solving, and product development. The competent teacher will appropriately use a variety of media, presentation, and authoring packages; plan and participate in team and collaborative projects that require critical analysis and evaluation; and present products developed.
Artifact: Technology-Supported Prezi Presentation
Reflective Statement:
The artifact that I chose for this standard is a technology-supported oral presentation that covered the most important aspects of teacher evaluation in America and its evolving practices within the school systems.
In this presentation, I collaborated with my workgroup by putting together a Prezi production using computers. We cooperated with each other not only by evenly splitting up the content that we would orally present on in class, but also by putting our Prezi production together online while incorporating appropriate tools such as comics and short video clips for communicating concepts to our audience. We used a computer projection device to help deliver our oral presentation as well as created a document of our outline, which included links to critical resources that we obtained information from.
Through the process of creating our technology-supported presentation, I learned a lot more about how to use Prezi technology and incorporate that into an oral presentation via computer projection. This presentation helped me to better navigate the features of Prezi and utilize outside multimedia resources in my final product. Moreover, this presentation deepened my thinking and overall knowledge on teacher evaluations in America. It helped me to gain a much more thorough understanding of the evaluation process and its effects on the futures of all teachers.
